Install a power lift gate
Hello Everyone,
As you can see I am new to the forum. My wife has a 2008 Tahoe LT. When we bought the truck the power lift gate was not important but now my wife wants it. I am pretty sure I can stall it myself. I need a parts list and where to get the parts. I also think a button on the keyfob has to be programmed. Can I do this or does the dealer have too?
In advance thanks to everyone.

I will start by saying that: "Anything is possible."
I will end by saying that: "This can't be done."
Trade the Tahoe in and purchase one with the power liftgate, trust me on this one.

Well, thanks for the info. I do trust your knowledge. If anything comes to mind please let me know. Like you said anything is possible but I still would like to have it.

i love to customize as much as i can on my cars and i do mean total custom work. i used to compete with my other trucks nationally with a full fiberglass interior and air bag system. well my point is i have studied the posibility of instalaing that same option,it can be done but there is a lot i mean a lot of custom work begining with the side panel to cover the motor if you go that route or the actuator. the fabricating the mechanisim from the motor or actuator th the lift gate it self, nad some much more.and the remote part part you would have to get an aftermarket alarm and use one of the extra channels to operate it.or maybe bye the motor asembly for some one or someplace and just fabricate the new panel. there is alot of possibilities, but there will also be a lot of money spent for something that i dont think is worth it for the money is going to cost.

I have broke the bad news to my wife. Guess what, she now wants toget anotherthe 2008 Tahoe with everything. I don't think that will be happening. Next time I will do better research before I settle with something. I researched for about 6 months but that was just comparing different SUV's.
Once again, thanks to everyones input. Maybe a kit will become avaliable or maybe I can find a wrecked Tahoe.
