2500HD 8.1 engine allison transmission lower radiator hose
Just had radiator fixed. My lower radiator hose connects with quick connect clip. I cannot get the clip to seat fully. I can install hose (it has a notch and will only fit on one way) but the quick clip will not fully seat. I have tried to remove and replace multiple times but the quick connect clip will not click into position. What am I doing wrong?
dorman cooler lines or factory orignals? only time i have had issues is when using dorman lines.
two ways to seat them:
install the clip and then push the line into the fitting
install the line and seat one end of the clip and roll the clip around the fitting with the tip of your fingers.to seat the other end

I've attached photos to this thread. I'm not forum savvy but the photos are below.
Thank you for any insight you can provide.
I can push the radiator hose onto the radiator but it will not lock into place.

To the OP - did you get it connected? Leave the clip in place on the hose and use lubricant to help the hose seal seat correctly. Once it’s far enough on that the locating tab prevents rotation of the hose, rock it top to bottom (or side to side depending where the tab is) to push it the rest of the way on. The clip will “snap” once it’s in place, but be sure to inspect that all 3 parts of the clip are seated.
The 8.1 engines don’t have a CAC. They utilized the same style of quick connect for the lower radiator fitting (no idea why).
Same here. A light coating of engine oil or Vaseline/grease on the radiator side of the fitting helps it seat.
