If you can get a good wrecked truck for cheap, yea it is possible. Me and a buddy took a wrecked 198x K5 blazer and pulled the 305, tranny, front axle, suspension, and transfer case then put it in a 85 c10 truck with minimal fabrication. Therear suspension had to be modified from a blazer to a truck, but I don't know about a 2000 truck, I would *assume* it would work no problem though, but don't quote me. I take it that old dog's comment "$40,000" refers to buy a new truck?

i've seen it done. its not just a money thing but its the alignment of all the parts. the driveline. cutting things off the truck to allow axles to fit. its just alot of time and work. its worth spending the extra cash and just buy a newer or what have you truck with four wheel drive.
