Hey Guys.. Just got a new ( to me ) 2000 Chevy 2500 Silverado longbed.

All is great except that the dash light that shows that the 4 wheel drive is engaged is on...and it stays on.

My 4x4 shifter on the floor (non push button type) shows that it is in 2 wheel drive and I can tell that the front tires are not in 4x4 mode.

I have tried to shift from 4H to 2H to 4L and back to see if it will "clear" by resetting if you will. But nothing is working.

Any thoughts? Is it a easy repair for the shop?

Switch is probably bad.
