4WD Transfer Case Binding in Reverse
I have/have had three Chevrolets with automatic 4WD, and have noticed that when you have locked them into 4WD, everything goes well forward, but when you back up, the transfer case binds up, although they have been shifted out of 4WD. This has been the case on my 2004 Trailblazer, a 2000 Z71 Silverado and now a 2009 GMC Sierra. I was trying to pull a load in reverse with the Sierra and it simply bogged down. Anyone else have this experience? Suggestions?
Note: A 1997 Chevy K1500 which I had previously did NOT exhibit this problem.

I was just searching for 4x4 probs and found someone with the same symptoms in my search. Unfortunatly I did not keep track of the post but it has been discussed in this forum. My search was " 4x4 not working" I think around the second page
Thanks, guys. This problem seems to be typical to GM transfer cases, since I have seen it on a new GMC, 2000 Chev and a Trailblazer. Have seen it in both high and low range, had not seen it on an old Chev and older Dodges that I have owned.
