4x4 overhaul
I stripped the front diff and related gear on my 2001 Silvy reg cab..It was ugly but I was on a rural road and no one around. After 20 miles it started to fully seize and let loose with a loud bang and I had a 2wd. But 2wd still works good.Its a 2wd for the foreseeable future. Maybe later I will do a complete renewal on the 4x4 system.It never had anything done to it over the 180K miles. Vortec 6 /e60 automatic.Depends on the price. I would want new modern ring/pinion guts front and back, new u joints, true the drivelines,
new manual lockouts on the front wheels, and if possible a better than stock transfer case...and all labor. What do you think I would be looking at price wise and what new gear would make this farm truck a winner.??? Bling means nothing to me. Just function. And I run 245/75/16 all season tires..what do you know????
