Question HELP? 4x4 problems

was wondering exactly how you lock a 95 suburban into 4x4. What gear I shoudl be in [P, R, N, D].

I get a clunking every once in awhile from my truck when im driving in 2WD and I can see the 4x4 shifter move a little in the floor.

was wondering if I might not have it locked into 2WD all the way?

typically your transfer case will kick it out of gear if it's not engaged right. trans in neutral, shift into the range you want (4hi, 4lo, 2wd). you may have to let rig roll just a little if it won't go into range.

If you have an owners manual, it'll tell you.
