5.3L timing chain
I'm rebuilding a cast iron 5.3L truck engine that I picked up for a song. The new (Napa Auto Parts) chain (and sprocket) have what seems to me a lot of slack. I can move the chain about 3/8" sideways. I reinstalled the OEM chain and found the same. Is this normal for these engines? Thanks in advance for any help.
