94' Bad year for chevy's silverados?
Alright,So I just bought a 94' Silverado 4X4 with a 350 in it.I went to my friend's house to show it to him cause he wanted to see it.My friend's buddy was there and he told me that was a bad year for the Chevy Silverados because the fuel pump prematurely wears out all the time on them.He said he knows this because his friend had on and it happened to his.Has anyone ever heard about something like this or has a 94' Silveradothat this keeps happening to?Mine appears to be fine.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.

I justput one in my cuzes truck and he has had it since new and he has 230,000 on it.
but if a elec. full pump is run out of gas its gonna go bad pretty fast
i seen it my self runing your truck out of gas a cpl times will kill the pump pretty good there in my exp. has been
metel shavings in it time and time again.
the fuel acts as a lubrcant.
so something to think about.

I've heard that in the whole generation, when chevy shipped the gas tanks in, they had some coating in them to prevent corrosion. But over the years it wearing off and runs through the pump, which wears it out early. That's just what i've heard. But i've never heard of a truck lasting atlest 140k without a problem, but just a fuel pump issue doesn't mean it's a "bad year".

never heard of a chevy with 140K and no prob.
well dads got a 91 s-10 4.3 with past 400K now and all he has done was put a radiator and a heating core.
cuz has his 95 C1500 5.7 and just past 140K nothing but fuel filter and and master cylinder.
and well as for one more
my last truck was a 96 K2500 5.7 just a hair over 300K and nothing but fuel pump and one injector but did all them whill i had intake off.
and you wonder Y i keep a chevy

We have a 94 with 119 K and have had no major problems. Prior to my 07 NBS I had a 91 it had 140 K and it also had no major issues. If taken just basic care of that series of trucks are very relible and tough.

That's what I thought. My 92' has 191000 on it and I just give it a little tune-up and basic maintence whenever it's needed. She's still running stronger than ever too.
