94 K1500 350 starts but won't run

New fuel pump installed. Truck runs great. Suspected cause of pump failure: Running the tank too low too often overheating the pump. With $4 a gallon gas in So Calif sometimes it's hard to pull into a gas station and keep the thing full. I know, I know...it's just a psychological thing.

,its on the same shaft as the pump in the tank.Never run the truck low on fuel ,the pumps are really garbage as are the sending units.Personally I install a fuel pressure gauge inline after the filter to monitor for clogs In The system , a change in pressure indicates you need to investigate before it won't run.I also run a dedicated ground wire soldered to the grounds for the pump as the Frame
Ground is highly
susceptable to corrosion and poor connection.Obviously be carefull with any heat or spark near any fuel.
Hope this helps I spent many nights walking home and replacing parts for nothing before I figured it out.
