double check to see if the caliper isn't sticking at all, otherwise i'd look at wheel bearings.

that would be the only things to make that kind of sound in that area. is it on the s10? front wheel bearings should be pretty easy, inexpensive.

no its on my fullsize k1500 4X4 bearing is about $282+tax and from what i hear they're a pain in the *** to change rumors of breaking sockets

and if the caliper was stickin wouldnt it pull a lil bit to the left

ahh, yeah, it CAN be a pain on that rig. gotta buy the whole bearing/hub assembly, then get the cv axle back through it, which is the hardest part. but, a little penetrating oil applied few different times a day or two before you do the work. the socket breaking is from the axle nut, which from what i've seen and heard, is because the little cotter pin isn't gettin pulled out, or there's a small piece left in that isn't seen. patience, and the right way will pay off.

oh, and as far as the caliper causing it to pull, not necessarily. the caliper only needs to stick enough to cause the noise, which may not be much. combined with all the frontend parts and 4wd, you may not feel it. take a look at the rotor and pads to make sure, look for purple shaded streaks/burns, worn pads already.
