there is a solenoid on the front dif that locks the 4-wheel drive it could be bad, or its in your switch/wireing.
is it push button or does that year still have the stick on the floor? if its push button the solenoid on the tranfercase could be bad also

Chevrolet has a gas filled actuator to engage the front diff. They were prone to failure and were the worst if you got them packed in snow. Most of them were replaced with the same part until Chevrolet finally came out with an electronic version that actually works when needed. I put one in several years ago and haven't had any trouble since. JC Whitney used to sell a mechanical actuator that was controlled from the driver seat. The advantage to this unit is that you can run in 2wd low by not engaging the front diff.

I thought by '95 they had gone to the electronic ones. My bad for calling it a soleinoid.
