Default 96 Z71 not going into 4wd

having trouble w/ my electronic 4wd. It started to blow fuses when trying to go into 4wd, i replaced the actuator in the front diff. this solved the fuse problem, now when try 4 hi nothing happens, 4 lo, it tries to engage( down shifts trans to low gear) but nothing happens in the front, i should note that the lights on the 4hi and 4lo switch flashes, owners manual states that this means that the shift is not complete. HELP PLEASE!

P.S. please do not tell me to take it to the shop, i can usually fix my own stuff and if i have to go to the shop would like to have a better knowledge base.

the best advice i can give you is the actuator. my 4 low does the same thing as yours(shifts into low gear) but nothin ghappens in the front and the actuator just needs to be replaced. though my cab light comes on when i put it in 4 low. my 4 high works just fine, unlike yours, but still sounds similar. also, do you have push button 4wd or stick?

I know you've already replaced the front actuator, and with the T-case going into 4lo, the t-case actuator seems to be working. But it may be worth a try to change one of those again. I wanna say theres some sort of pin in the front diff that has to move for the diff to engage that could be your problem.

There is a pin that the actuator pushes that has the fork for the slip coupling on it, t has a spring return on the other end of the pin. You can remove and check that, but I think your problem is electronic related for some reason. I think the fact that the 4wd light is flashing is making me think that>
