Default 97 Silverado Brake Problems

My Silverado is having some braking troubles. When I apply the brakes, I can feel a vibration in the pedal (similar to ABS) and hear a noise (similar to ABS). I took it to the shop that had just serviced my brakes and the shop manager said that unless the ABS light comes on, its not ABS. They found that the passenger side rear drum had the parking brake on, charged me $200 to fix and sent me on my way. On the way home I knew it still wasn't fixed. Theres no noticeable loss of ability to brake - however hearing the ABS noise and feeling the pedal makes me surely feel like I won't stop in time. I'd love some suggestions so I know what to say to this guy when I bring back my truck.

Thanks!

-Pat

Warped rotors I actually got the same problem with my 97'. I dont hear a noise or no ABS lights but when I apply brakes it pulsates like crazy.

most likely its warped rotors. where the surface of the rotor is like a wave and when the brake pad hits the warped surface thats what causes the pulsation.
