97 truck wont start

I have a 97GMC Sierra 5.7L k1500 that wont fire. starter engages motor and turns normally 2-3 seconds then cuts out and engages again

listen for a buzz coming from your gas tank when you turn the ignition on, if no buzz, then the fuel pump could be shot
