Once in a while when i putthe pedal to the floor i get a a quick jerk hesitation and then picks up in rpm's but once in 3rd gear at about 3000 rpm's it just shoots up in rpms and doesnt shift like it shoould. The truck has 215000 miles and fluid seems fine but dont knkw when it was last serviced. I wanna drop the pan and change it but im kinda hesitant with the high mileage...
Any ideas?

yeah your band is going bad, you need to do an overhaul, you can do it yourself rather then bring it to a shop, rebuild kits only cost about $90, i just finished my tranny rebuild
