Hey guys im new here and it looks like your a lot of help so heres my problem. I got a 98 Z71 350 vortec I drove into town a couple days ago went into the store came out fired it up and it started spittin and sputterin and backfiring and the exhaust smelled like raw fuel. It will run down the road but not very good. I was thinkin fuel pressure regulator but I wanted to see what yall thought first. Thanks

 

that or a stuck open poppet how many miles on it if your going in there for the regulator save your self some future problems and upgrade the whole spider assy you can get them on amazon for about $220

upgrade it, when the regulator leaks it goes into cyl 5 and i think cyl 7 also i wouldn't drive it much like this it might damage the cats, mine had 255k on it when #5 poppet stuck closed http://www.amazon.com/Delphi-FJ10566...ar=1&carId=001

 

I have a misfire code that keeps occuring on cyl#7. It comes and goes at any time. I'll replace the regulator first and then the updated spyder. My truck is a 5.0 and has 260k on the clock.

 

Hey guys thought id give yall an update. I put on the improved spider and it was still doin the same thing, so I decided what the heck and threw a cap and rotor on it and it fixed it. I gotta say though it runs about ten times better with the new spider and the old one was falling apart anyway. Thanks for all yalls input
