Question 99 silverado wont run

I have a 99 Chevy Silverado 1500 that seems to turn over but immediately dies. I have check all the fuses and several wires, and checked the ground cables I could find and they were tight and clean. When it cranks and starts and then even if you hit the gas it immediately dies.

Any suggestions what it might be?

This can be a few things. Do you have a Pepboys near by? I would say have them or another mechanic do a computer diagnostics on it.

Possible passlock system malfunction. Has to do with the ignition key, passlock shuts down the fuel injectors and does not allow starting. Try putting a known good key in ignition and turn to on without starting and keep on for 10 minutes. The system may relearn and reset allowing you to start truck. As for repair it may be a simple new ignition lock or bcm problem.

mitchelc981 the is no error code being shown. ToooTall1 I have thought about the passlock I did hve the ignition replaced and the person who did is out of town but I am gonna have him look at it in case it has locked the truck but I will try as you suggested with the key turned on for 10 minutes to see if that works, thank you for the suggestion
