Default 99 Silverado Won't Start

My 99 1500 won't start. The starter is working but it won't catch. I think the fuel pump is not working properly but I am not sure. About a week and a half ago when I would start the truck in order to keep it idling I would have to step on the gas peddle for a minute or two then I would be fine to drive. The problem got worse as the days went on and now I can't even get the engine to start. On the rare occasion it will catch and idle at 500 RPM for about two to three seconds but spudder out and die. When that happens I try to give it gas but I get no response. I have replaced the fuel pump twice already in the past two years. I removed it the other day and try to clean the sock filter on the bottom the best I could but it did not help.

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS GOING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you,
Ryan

Welcome to the forums, Rjellis.

Just for something to try, pull the distributor cap off. Is it clean with no cracks or carbon tracks? How's the rotor doing? Timing OK, distributor lock-down clamp tight? Are all your vacuum hoses hooked up tight?

this happened to my cousins dodge. a dealer said it was his fuel pump. but if you already changed yours twice it probably isnt the issue. when you changed the pump the 1st time, how did it look? there could be a chance you have some build up in your lines. and what about your fuel filter? have you changed that lately?
