Default are all 5.3's turds or just mine!

not sure if this is a problem with just my truck or this is how these trucks run but untill june i had a 03 qc hemi ram (the trannys in them dont last maybe 15k), i need to know how to make more power i guess, this truck can't even break the tires loose with traction control offi have a 2008 crew cab 1500 lt 4x4 with the 5.3 it has the factory 20's on it now may look into bigger later. i'm use to may ram having alot of power at the flip of my ankle if i ever wanted to slide around a corner or do a burnout it wouldn't think twice and just do it. this new truck cant do a burn out or slide a litttle bit without hearing something clunk in the back and the truck falling on its face this is depressing how it get up and run with the other full sizes around me. any ideas please help thanks.

custom tune by nelson performance or blackbear performance with 80% Torque management removed will help.

thats not right, I have a crewcab 08 silverado with 4.8 stock I dont have any problems spining my tires. have the dealership check that out. I would have got the 5.3 but i dont trust the whole active fuel management, I dont do much haulin so i think 4.8 will work for me. if I could have got the 5.3 without active fuel I would have gotten it for sure.

I hope you get that figured out

for the most part you are not going to smoke your tires. It is because of the computer. Some call it the nanny factor. The 4.8 may not be set up like that. Its torque management on the 5.3

The dealer will not do anything for that.

The dealer will do nothing for TM. its there to keep you from spinning your tires and causing excesive wear and tear on the drive train. again custom tune with a min of 80% tm reduced.

i liked my 5.3 till i got my 6.0HO. no comparison.

depends on your gear ratio in the back as well, if your used to your HEMI, you shold have opted for the MAX package Silverado. HEMI pulls like nothing else really, even the 6.0 in the MAX dont pull as hard as the hemi in the Dodge, cudos to that, but gas milage sucks nad ya the trannys are weak.

Do you have any warning lights showing on your dash?
Sometimes the computer will drop the efficiency in the engine
to prevent motor dammage if there is an alarm code showing.

Other than that, be sure to watch the fuel you are using,
since some states use 10% ethanol, which degrades performance.

Also, are you in 2-wheel or Automattic setting?

I would never gunn the engine in 4-wheel drive btw.
