Default any ideas? 4wd not working in '96 k1500

recently twisted the shaft in my front diff. replaced the diff(from a '93). the 4wd does not light up or engage. front driveshaft spins but not front tires. any ideas would be appreciated...i NEED my 4wd

On the outside ofyour axle tube there is a slave cylinder, first, I would make sure the vacuum lines are attached. They also attach to the top of the transmission so check there to. If they are both attached, you will want to unbolt the slave cylinder and carefully remove it. There is a fork attached, remove the fork. The fork slides over a round cylinder and this cylinder slides back and forth ingaging and disingaging your front axle. Jack your front end up "keep the engine OFF" rotate your front driver side tire and attempt to slide the cylinder onto the axle. You may have to use a screwdriver but I just use my fingers. If it slides over, then most likely you need to replace the slave cylinder.
