Default battery question

hi, i have a 91 silverado 2500 with a 350 5.7 engine 2wd. My battery recently went dead and the only battery i could find on short notice was a 550 cca. is this enough or am i going to have to buy another batter with more cc amps. It starts fine now, but im wondering if it will were down in a short time.

thanks

Default RE: battery question

The one in mine (same engine) has 700 CCA and 875 CA, and it has gone 2 years pass its 60 month warranty, and still going! I would think it would be enough, the battery life may be a little shorter than normal.

read the owners manual to see what it recommends.
if the one you bought is working, than let it work.
depending on your climate, the battery life may be shortened.

i would say use the other one as long as it is working for you, and as long as it is strong enough to turn the motor over and not sluggish, i agree that it may not last as long, when it dies i would say to replace it with a similar battery that you took out originally with the same CCA's

I would put in exactly what you took out, if you change anything, maybe change to a better brand.
