Question Best Choice on a 2007 > 2010 Silverado ?

Hi people at The Chevrolet Forum !

I'm from Belgium Europe and currently driving a Chevy Pick-Up C1500 Cheyenne Ext. Cab from 1995 with a 5.0L motor.
This motor - car got already 242.000 miles,
so it is possible in the near term future i would switch to a "newer" Silverado model.

Therefore my questions :

Regards the Silverado,
All from 2007 and newer I like towards style :-)

But, i am in a doubt about what years or what type of motors - models are Not adviced towards alot of problems with it, or at the other side : what years or models - motors are Adviced towards they are Top and have Less or no Real problems !

So, can you'll give me some advice what is the best "deal" so i dont have alot of costs in unwanted repairs :-)
Sure now with all the electronics, it is always better to have a trustworthy car.

To narrow it down : i'm looking in to the 2007 - 2008 - 2009 - 2010 trucks , 1500 model.

Motor : the 5.3L or 6.2L ? Or do you advice others ? )

And, also, would there be a difference in the Chevy Silverado models and the GMC Denali towards Quality ? ( Sorry that I ask this here ! )

Gladly i read your comments in this, atm I have No idea what I need to avoid and what is ok, or vice versa.
I know very good my "old" C1500 model and 5.0L - 305 motor, but regards the newer types i have No clue

Thx in advance !!

Christof

5.3 motors in the 2007+ years have Active Fuel Management (AFM). I'm not a big fan of it, and will never own one. Just google 5.3 AFM to see what I'm talking about.

The 6.2 is a great motor. Lots of power, but also worse gas mileage.

Regards to Chevy vs GMC - the quality would be about the same. The Denali is the highest GMC trim level, and has the most options, so I guess that could mean the most that can go wrong. However, My '09 Sierra Denali has been great. Only issues have been a leaking front pinion seal and a bad door lock actuator.

Silverado trim levels are W/T, LS (cloth), LT (leather), LTZ
Sierra trim levels are SLE (cloth), SLT (leather) and Denali.

All Denalis have the 6.2 engine.
