Well have Justin check out your torque converter because mine came locked, stock, during shifting. I disabled it myself, but just an FYI.

Well the torque converter can lock and unlock at certain times and when you want it to. My '02 Z71 Tahoe had a stock tune (from the factory) with the torque converter locking during shifting. During shifting is one of the transmission's weak points (along with it being in two different gears at the same time!!). This locked torque converter, while the transmission is shifting, puts stress on the transmission and, in essence, shortens its life. I don't know if you have this option enabled or not, but it is something to look into. I didn't think that GM would do something like this, but it was done. My transmission had this option enabled for like 140k-160k until I found out about it and changed it. A friend of mine checked on the HP tuner website/forum and found another stock tune to make sure. It turned out that the other stock 2002 Tahoe tune had this option enabled as well. After disabling it my transmission shifted quite a bit smoother. I'm pretty sure Justin knows about this problem, but make sure to ask.

I just got my Tahoe tuned (in person) from Justin, and all I can say is SWEETNESS!!! The throttle is more responsive and it doesn't take as much throttle for the Tahoe to move. It has gobs more torque and power. I also recommend cleaning out your IAC, EGR, and throttle body with some carb cleaner. I cleaned out mine before the tune, and the throttle response improved a noticeable amount. Even if your idling is alright clean out your IAC, it really helped out the throttle response. Just another FYI, haha.

Cool. Well good luck on the tune, and seriously consider the custom tune. It is more money, but money very well spent.

Navy Nuclear Power program... I made E7 at 11, E8 at 14 and E9 at 17. When I made E9, I was one of twelve EMCMs in my field. Don't miss it a bit!

I installed my GMPP CAI this weekend, it now sounds ready to suck up large rodents. The Corsa Sport exhaust is due to arrive Monday...

I'm going to upgrade after I move to Texas. My driving habits will be different out there.

Move will be to Abilene in May. I've spent a lot of time in Wackoville. My g-ma lives there.

My 16x8 AR23 Americna Racing Wheels will be here Thursday... 575 total. I kept looking at a set that were 480 apiece... Glad I could hold back...
