ok. paint you used?

 

duplicolor color and clear and just some primer that i had around the house

 

think there is a difference between the duplicolor spray paint and normal paint?

i looked on duplicolors website and my color code wasnt on there.

 

few things... chrome is a chemical bonding. you cant paint over chrome. that paint will flake in a year unless you sand it down. and if you wanna paint the stock tie, just use 300 grit or so, primer it, wet sand it, color, sand, color, sand then clear. when wet sanding i used 700 on the primer, and color sanding i used 1000. then just shoot some clear let dry and your gold. a nice even no orange peel result. and to get the emblems off, you can use fish line but the trick, get some 3m adhesive remover spray it above the part to be pulled off, let it run down, let it soak then slowly use the line to break the glue loose then peel the rest of the sticky off the truck and buff it up. if you use a heat gun, well personally i would never recommend one unless your doing it out in the cold. heat guns can increase oopsies very fast. if heated too much, can crack paint and so on. or, go to youtube and look up how to remove decals. guy did it with a rubber spatula, wd40 and a microfiber over the spatula. ya mean.

 

well i was going to paint my gold one i have but no paint store nor parts store that will make the paint and there are plenty of body shops in my area so im going to go by a few tomorrow and price this job out.
