Default Brake contoller wiring.....

I am assuming that my 2007 Silverado has been pre-wired for a aftermarket electric brake controller, right??? Can someone tell me where it might be? What the bundle of wires looks like? The truck has the trailer tow package. Thanks in advance , for the help!

Welcome to the forum!!! Your truck should be prewired, but I don't know what the cluster of wires look like. The junctionshould be behind the panel under the steering wheel.

Does your truck have a 7 prong trailer plug at the tail?

this is what I bought, for the same reasons. Cheap, and it does what I want it to do. I know that there are MUCH better controllers out there, for more money; but THIS works for me. I tow a small enclosed, single axle trailer. The whole rig weighs@ 3600lbs. loaded; ready for the road.

My 2007 Silverado CC 4X4 LT2 was supposed to have the trailer towing package; it only has tow/haul mode. The unit does not have the ABS integrated brake trailer controller as a factory option. The unit does not have extenable mirrors either. I want to tow a travel trailer with the Silver, but want to tow it leagally and safely. I've checked on-line and found a Class IV hitch assembly as well as WD and anti sway set up. Also found an aftermarket trailer brake controller. Where do I hook into the wiring harness to install the brake controller?

The whole package to set up the Silverado 1500 for towingcomes to about $1000.00. That price does not include towing mirrors. Anyone have any idea about a decent looking set of mirrors? I don't want to look like the Clampetts dragging a TT down the road. Any feedback will be appreciated here or e-mail.

What is the difference in the Classic, HD and New Body Silverado?
