I have a 1995 1500 Z71. Both of my brake lights wouldnt come on but the center brake light above the cab would. I found out that it was just a burnt fuse so I replaced it and it worked. Then found out the next day that the lights were out again and it was another fuse that failed. Any suggestions why? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Take a close look at the sockets, they fail often. Also I have heard of entire cars being take apart to look for a short without someone checking the obvious first. Try 2 new bulbs first.

unhook the tail light assemblies and see if it still blows fuses if it does then start at the back and work your way forward, if not then its a process of elimination. one risky but efective way is to put a piece of wire in place of the fuse, hold on the brake pedal and wait for the smoke, i am not responsible for fires and only use as a last resort
