Default Brake pedal grunts?? on 1500

It will be fine if I pump it a few times, but if I dont the pedal dont even want to go down. I dont know how else to describe it other way than it makes a grunting sound. Also if I go slow down a dirtroad or something after a while it will make this noise out of nowhere although not as severe

Default brake pedal

Could have a faulty power brake unit. With the motor off pump the pedal several times, then while holding pressure on the pedal start the engine. the pedal should go down a short way. If not the PB unit could be bad.

I can only see a relation if your truck has a hydroboost power brake system.
If yes, there maybe a problem with your power steering pump on low fuid in it, etc.

is the hydroboost an aftermarket product?I just got the truck a few months ago. The powersteering itself does seem to have issues at times Ill check the fluid

Hydroboost was/is used on one ton and diesel pickups.
Instead of vacuum assist, hydraulic assist from the power steering pump is used.

I see you have a 1500 so you should not have that after all.
