Default Brake System- Slight Pull and pads constantly in contact with rotors

Hi, I am new here

I installed rotors and new pads on front. After driving and noticing the truck pulls to the left when braking and sometimes to the right, I took both front wheels off to have a look.

I noticed that when I would turn the rotors manually by the lug stud that the brake pads were in constant friction with the rotors on both the driver and passenger side. So the grinding noise is not noticeable while driving.

Is this normal? I thought the pads were not supposed to be in contact with the rotors when the truck was parked.

New calipers? Im confused

Disc pads are in light contact with the rotor all the time. Did you bleed the brakes after installing the pads?

unless it took a lot of effort then its normal, does it pull when braking or just going down the road?

On my Blazer, my daughter drove it with a bad caliper so long that it took out the hose.
looked fine but it deteriorated from the inside and acted like a check valve, PITA.

like said, if it was hard to turn them with the tire off then there's a problem. If they were hard, check out the calipers. The pistons could be stuck, if not, then they're fine from the sounds of it. Checked your alignment?

Did you lube the caliper slider bolts?

sounds as though i have made mistakes, if so i welcome your input, and thanks for contributing

old chevy- did not bleed brakes, thought you did not have to if you left fluid in master cylinder

cleveland63b- only when braking, and after half a turn the rotor was very difficult to turn- as if the rotor is still warped, but they were turned 20 miles ago

edac- what is PITA?

country_09- pistons depressed with clamp , but i guess they could be sticky?
have not checked alignment

spyncylce- lubed the caliper slide bolts with white lithium grease (spray can)
