Default Broken Key lock cylinder

Hello all, as the title says, I have a broken key lock cylinder on my 98 Silverado. I was at work when some guy broke the driver side handle and tried to turn the ignition but the old tumblers broke and so thats how I found it. After youtubing some videos and looking on several forums, I still couldn't find a way to take out the cylinder without having to turn the key. I cannot turn the ignition past the 'off' position and I don't know how else to take it out without replacing the whole thing. I am new to the forums.

At some point you have to just call it quits and get a new key cylinder and key set. You have to remove the steering wheel, remove the pressure lock plate, remove the turnsignal switch, pull the key cylinder retaining pin out (uses hex key/torx), then remove and replace the key cylinder.

Call a mobil lock smith, it should be reasonably inexpensive.
