Default Key Lock Cylinder and top trim panl

I am trying to replace my ignition switch in 99 suburban and I cannot get the top trim panel off of the steering column. The bottom came off pretty easily. Do you hav to remove the key lock cylinder to remove this panel? If so, how do you do it? None of my books tell me and I cannot figure it out. If not, how do I get this top trim panel off. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Default RE: Key Lock Cylinder and top trim panl

ok, so u have the lower trim off. look for a small 1/8" hole in the bottom of column, and with the key in the on position use a small pocket screw driver to reach up the hole and depress a button, while u do this just pull gently on the key, when u push the button just right the key and lock will slip right out.
