Default Bug Shield & Wind Noise

Hello all, proud new owner of a 08 Chevy Crew Cad Texas Ed here. Looking at getting a bug shield to help keep the bugs off the paint here in the South. Was in the process of calling around to get prices when they said their having problems with wind noise caused from the bug shield. Has any one used a bug shield on the 08 with no problems, and if so what brand?

I put the painted GM model on mine and really like it. You can't even tell its on at a distance. I have noticed a slight whistle above 50 mph, but its nothing the stereo doesn't cover up!

My wife has a 06 with a bug shield and at highway speeds it made a wind noise. The stealership blamed it on the bug shield but my wife couldnt stand it any longer and demanded to see the service manager and finally got them to change the seal around the window under warranty. Since then the noise has went away.

My '07 silverado developed wind noise that was real loud. I had raised the hood just a little so no contact on grill. Well after lowering it back down the noise went away. With the NBS trucks, you can't lower the grill as easily as the older trucks.

Thanks guys, talked with the dealer today and he said a little silicon under the plastic strip on the left and right sides and the noise will go away. No charge since the truck only has 1200 miles on it. Warranty work. I will keep everyone posted.
