Default A/C Problems

I have an '03 silverado 1500 w/ the 5.3L and here is my problem. I recently broke the ac compressor belt after a small rattling noise so I figured to just replace the belt. About a week after replacing the belt, I heard the same noise and once again threw the belt. I'm thinking that it could just be the bearings in the pulley but am not sure if you can just replace the bearings or if I have to replace the whole Compressor. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Well, my suggestion with an 8 year old compressor, replace the whole thing. I had the same dilema with my 96 Lumina with a bearing growling. I decide to just replace the whole thing as I felt replacing the bearing, then having the compressor go out after that exspense.

Check the A/C tension pulley, there not to expensive and not hard to replace
