Hello! I am the excited new owner of a 1988 Chevy C1500 and thank God for this forum. I know I will be here alot asking questions about my truck but to start with I have an unusual situation. With the purchase of my truck, I recieved a cab that is just shy of paint booth ready. The cab on the truck does have some rust but I would prefer to just replace the area instead of the whole cab due to knowledge and space. How much should I sale the cab for? Would craigslist be a good place or should I go a different route? I think my first project will be to replace the bench seat with 2 buckets. Any suggestions of what would be an easy way to go? Thanks in advance for your replies!

 

honestly make a list of stuff you want and and take that cab to a salvage yard try to haggle what you need for what you dont. salvage yards for that truck are a gold mine

 

Thanks for the idea, never thought about that but it could save me a good chunk of change. Lord knows if I can there is alot I would like to do and I think the first will be to pull the bench and put 2 buckets in with a customer center console to hold the amp and subs. Thanks again for the idea!

 

Sadly due medical issues my plans to customize my spare cab are gone. If anyone is interested in buying it or know somewhere other than Craigslist to sell or trade it let me know. Right now I'm just keeping the truck as is
