Change oil light

I have an 01 silverado and I was just woundering how/if possible to turn off the change oil light, after your done changing the oil yourself? only dealership?

Turn the key to the on position but don't start it.
Press the gas peddle three times.
Remove key.

That is correct but it is a pain in the b**ls! Every time that light comes on I know I am in for a 1/2 hour of pressing that damn pedal against the floor before it finally resets!!!!!![

I believe you have to pump 3 times in 5 seconds to get the system to recognize it

its easy, turn key to start position wait for the chimes to stopand pump pedal three times... you must be not doin it right for it not to work... its toooooo easy lol. this is how it is on most cars and trucks
