change tire

Default change tire

Stupid question?
How to remove the tire cover on a 2001 Silverado to move the tire. I cannot determine how to get to the lugs. thanks

What size of truck is it?
On my 2005 1/2Ton HD the lugs are covered with plastic shaped like a lug. To get to the lugs you have to unscrew the plastic from the lug. If it's still cold there, like is it here, be very careful not to crack them. Once you get them all off you should be able to just slip the center cap off.

Here is a picture of the kind of wheels I have, only these ones are from a GMC.

Yea if its the plastic covering on the lugs, use a socket BY HAND ONLY using a rachet or wrench can EASILY strip them, poor f--king design, they should just go with normal lugs with no cap, IMO.
