I am going up to milan dragway this weekend for high school nationals, and i have a 1997 chevy cheyenne 1500 2wd with the 4.3 v6 vortec and the 5 spd manual trans and im curious to know what the quarter mile is for one of these stock if anyone knows? a time that i can think of is between 16.00 and maybe 16.50. maybe faster? maybe slower? anyone know?

 

No faster than 16.00 IMO. My stepdad used to have a '95 Cheyenne v6 5-speed... fell on its face as soon as it hit 3rd. IF you get 16.00, your doing pretty good. I would expect 17, but no slower than 18.

 

allright cool, i just have confidence in this truck i have beaten v8 pickups with this thing, i even beat my bros 1500 ram 2wd with the 5.9 in it how? idk lol
the 360's were a bit of dogs but still it kept up with my freinds 91 silverado with the 350 on the highway he just didnt have the 97 mph speed limiter thats when he started passing me lol.

 

1/4 mile times have alot of variables. altitude, weather temp, humidity, how well truckruns, how you shift, reaction time. i think 16 is optimistic at best, but ya never know.

 

yea but i figure its going to be 80's n humid not the best but the truck runs awesome thats the only reason why im racing it lol buuuut well see what happens
