I just bought a 2005 Silverado 2500 HD Extended Cab. The thing runs like a swiss clock with one exception. The stereo. So, the guy before me had an amp in it and all that stuff. He took it out when he sold the truck.

No audio comes from my front speakers and the door alarm for the key in the ignition is really faint.

When I take off the dash and look at the back of the stereo, there is only 1 plug and I am sure there should be 2. In addition, there is a red and black wire that has been spliced into the orange and black wires on the back of the stereo. Those 2 wires run over to the gauge cluster.

Any ideas on what is going on?
