Default Crazy idea, need advice

I have a 05' silverado 4wd 4 door and i'm intrested in converting it into a long travel 2wd. What would happen as far as computer wise, if i removed and disconnected my front axle, and my transfer case, would it affect the way my computer works?

It will be easy . Be smart. Sell your 4WD and buy a 2WD

I know, I already thought of that, it's just that this truck is already paid off, i just didn't want to go through selling it and finding the right truck and financing again

Why would you do that? A 2wd truckhas considerably less value than a 4wheeldrive. The amount of work that it would take to lose all that money is completely pointless.

If you really don't want to have a 4x4 do yourself a favor and sell it and get a 4x2.

If the truck is all paid off sell it and you can get the same truck in 2wheel drive for much cheaper. Especially since a 2wheel long box is usually a base model truck.

There will be no financing at all. Just cash.

Please don't do it, you will thank yourself later.
