Default slightly crazy idea but guidance/advice would be appreciated. 2007 tahoe diesel swap

ok so the tranny in my tahoe is cooked it has 105k miles on it its the ltz with every option. the motor burns about a quart and a half of oil between oil changes. i have access to a totaled 2008 chevrolet ltz duramax 4x4 diesel and i want to put the duramax in the tahoe i realize the suspension will need to be beefed up custom drive shafts custom motor mounts radiator exhaust wiring harness emissions equipment etc. I am aware of this where i need help is with the tap shifter for the allison and the wiring harness to get everything to work right this is just an idea i have and im not sure if i will go through with it but some help would be appreciated please no negative comments.
thanks

This sounds rather interesting!! I always like "slightly cray ideas"

Unfortunately, I cannot be of much help here as engines are not my thing. Hopefully, someone who is more experienced with them will post and provide you with an answer. Either way, I will be interested to hear if you go through with this. If you do, making a "build thread" would be very helpful for anyone that may also want to tackle this modification! Keep us informed and Good Luck!!

Duraburb inc in Florida. Don't know much about them other than the youtube videos. My understanding is that is doable with a gmt900 platform, ie 2500 suburban, don't know about the tahoe.

Would like to see this done! Are you doing this or getting a shop? As mentioned above, Duraburb offers this sevice. IMO the frame/support will also need to be beefed up and yes the 2500 is the better starting point. Another thing to consider is how the new PCM and TCM will communicate with the BCM.

Not much help, but good luck and keep us posted.

KyWill,
Hmmm I don't know who you talked to at the office but Eric here and I run the Service Dept at DuraBurb. I can assure you we most certainly do build LMM Duramax Suburbans, Tahoes, Escalades, etc, etc, the NBS GMT900 SUV's have been a main stay here for several years, as a side point DuraBurb built the very first ever (correct) NBS LMM SUV a few years back. Here is some info you might find help full

Sorry if someone misdirected you at sales or the office.

Keep in mind if you don't have a GM dealer that will work with you along with efilive your going to end up with a 6000lb paper weight, not to scare just to advise.

Some others who asked for burnout vids of there LMM SUV's

As you can see the power options are limitless, the 2008 made a best of 688HP/1194FTlbs but that will break things so we detuned it to a mild 620, A Tahoe with a 450HP DSP/5 and the optional 11.5 rear diff will lead a long happy life far exceeding the body in many cases but it's not a transformation to be taken lightly, its the 2nd hardest build we do next to the H2's.

I'm guessing that the entire power train has to be significantly beefed up to handle that prodigious amount of torque since the stock one has to utilize a torque mgmt system just to get it to last thru the warranty.
