Default crazy mixed up signals

Long story short - my truck died on me and when we got it back from the mechanic, it had a whole new set of problems! They replaced the fuel pump and the cycling switch for the AC.

The brake lights are very dim. When you turn on the headlights or running lights, they don't work at all. The back-up lights don't work at all. The third brake light works, but when you turn on the headlights/running lights and step on the brakes, it stays on. When you signal to turn right, the right turn signal works until you step on the breaks, then the opposite turn signal lights up super bright. The left side does the same thing.

The repair shop stated we needed to replace the signal cam switch in the steering column. We replaced it, as well as the pair of boards in the tail lights, but it hasn't solved the problems. Any ideas where we should start and what we should be looking at to solve this craziness? Hubby is an electrician, so we have all kinds of meters and testers to help test things.

Thanks in advance!

Katt

PS am I totally nuts to think the repairshop did something to my truck to cause these problems? Or was it purely coincidental?

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We got under the bed of the truck on a creeper and found the loose ground near the rear of the bed. 5 minutes and a new bolt & nut solved the problem. Why couldn't the mechanic figure that one out/check his work.

Thanks again!
