Daytime Running LED Lights (4114K replacement)

I think the last story I heard on the LED's and DRL's is that the voltage is pulsed and that will not work for the LED lights.
I have also heard that that is also the reason the DRL's burn out so quickly....
Kinda makes you wonder what they were thinking....

I have heard that the 3157 were the original DRL types, but because of the voltage spikes, they burned out rapidly...cue the 4114K. The 4114K are listed as 14volt bulbs (and supposidly are all Long Life bulbs), to take the spikes.

You would think that as big of a problem as this is we would know of a permenant fix by now. Every other chevy I meet on the road has one of these lights burnt out. When I looked at mine the connector was charred black. I would say a bit too much heat or resistence there for some reason. Has anyone had much luck with the 4114k replacement. I have also heard 4157 works well.
