Dome light does not work

howdy folks
i, basically, stopped driving my truck as of the last few mths, just take him for a spin once a week.
about a week ago - he's garaged - dome light and courtesy lights in the doors seized to turn on when you open the door. BCM knows that door is opened, as security light comes up in the dash. also, you know how the dome light is supposed to come up when door is locked and you pull on the handle? does not do that either.
chances of all 3 light bulbs go bad are so improbable that - i am not saying that's not the case - i need advice on what the heck might have happened. i can't locate any buttons that trigger those lights either in the door jam or in the door itself, in case they went bad or something.
suggestions appreciated.
