Default Dome Light Won't Turn Off

I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

I have a 99 Silverado Z71 and my dome light, nor the left and right floor panel lights will go out. The dome over-ride button will not turn them off either.

I had to disconnect the battery. Once re-connected, they came back on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bernard

Be sure that the dash light dimmer switch, located on the headlight switch assembly, that controls the dash light brightness is not all the way up. If that's not the problem, then I suspect that the headlight switch assembly needs replacing.

I will take a look at those 2 options. If no cure, I have to pass a dealership on the way home and will ask this question there. (Hopefully a free answer can be acquired) Thanks!

Thanks lost_in_alabama,
I did have the dash light dimmer switch all the way up. Made the adjustment and all is well.

Thanks also to this website that connects Chevy questions to answers.
