Default dragging rear brakes

new here guys...thanx for having me. just changed the pads on rear of my 2001 1500 and the brakes are dragging really badly. just slightly at first, but after they heat up it is really, really bad. what gives? looked to be simple to do, but now has me baffled.

Default dragging breaks

Your roters may be warped and are out of round. Look at the wear on the pads. Is one pad worn more then the other, is there more wear on the top or bottom of the pad etc. You can also check with a dial indicator or a micrometer.

Did you replace the parking brake pads also? I know, maybe an insulting question, but is the parking brake set?

Unhappy

no parking brake set. no drag of parking brake. only 85k on truck; probably first change of pads on rear. just used a c-clamp to push piston back in and whipped the pads on. replaced pad holders, too, just 'cuz they was there. (like climbin' the mountain). don't get this at all. pushed the fluid back to the master, so no collapsed hoses, i guess. caliper kits are next if i can't think of anything else.

sorry it took a while to get back; life happens; rotors look good; almost no runout per dial indicator. pistons are a litle hard to push back in when they get to bottom of travel. chiltons say to loosen bleeder when pushing piston back in w/abs brakes....i'm thinking they mean the front brakes since the rear abs is controlled by sensor in the tailshaft of tranny. someone tell me if i've screwed the pooch by not loosening bleeder. just wanted to check if hoses were collapsed internally, ya know.
