I agree that I need to learn to drive this truck better. I was feathering the brake to try and shift the traction from wheel to wheel, I don't think I would have made it without that. It does need a little better set of tires as well. I've got to get it back to the house tonight so I'll be able to play with it a little more when I get close to home.

In my experience, if you are going to use the brakes to try to lock up the rear then use the e brake. That way the front is't holding you up.

Well I figured out why the truck was so hard to drive, the front never engaged. Drove it home from the hospital tonight and got hung up on a slight grade, got the wife to hop in and drive and guess what...right rear was the only tire spinning. I knew it was not handling as I thought it would but never really thought it was only in 2wd. I got it back to the shop where I bought it for them to check it out in the AM. I guess the good news is the truck does pretty good in the snow in 2wd. Thanks for all the replies.

The dealer is on the way back to my house so I dropped it off there for them to check. They're looking into it now. I'll let you know what the problem was.

Its all fixed, mechanic said he put something back wrong after changing the axle seal that was leaking. Still had about 4" of snow on our backroad so got to try it out and it did just fine. I feel much better now.

general grabber at2 tires and some sand bags. you have a good truck for the snow, take it from me living up north in the state of maine.. another thing sounds like you need a little more experience driving in the in snowy conditions, I used to live in roanoke and we never got any snow

I'm sure I could use some more experience, but I think I made out pretty well considering I made it to where I was heading in 2wd and passed about 10 vehicles in the ditches on the way. Guess those years of off-roading helped out some even though we don't get alot of snow here I've been my share of slick VA clay. If you've lived in Roanoke and been off-road at all you know that stuff will make anyone a better driver when it gets wet.
