im looking at getting an 03 duramax and just wondering what the highs and lows were of them, and when i go to check it out if theres anything i should particularly look for ? thanks

 

Can't think of any lows, BECAUSE THERE AREN"T ANY!!!!
f you are thinking of getting a duramax, get a duramax.. You will never look back. There truly are no drawbacks other than having to watch yourself on wet pavement or you will spin the tires

 

look at consumercomplaints.com. a friend of mine had one. not sure the year though and it would just stop running like the 6.0 powerstokes when they first came out. he had it to every shop around and they all said there was nothing wrong with it. i guess its normal that they just stop running and then start again the next day and run till they dont feel like it any longer. if you dont need a diesel dont buy one if you do buy one make sure you can keep up with the running and breaking costs. ie bad fuel taking out your injectors $4000 i think they wanted you to run an extra set of filters on the duramax for this reason.

 

I have never heard of that before... Interesting, especially when we towed a 13,000lb horse trailer from Detroit MI all the way to FT Meyers Florida and back in 3 days

 

water pumps, and they are not fun to replace, occasional injectors, otherwise probably one of the best v-8 diesels out there, alot better than the clattery 6.5
