If you've never looked into it, you got a lot of work ahead of you. What all do you know about it? Also is the tranny goin with it for replacing?

I had to change engines in my 99 5.3 z71 after I blew it up. Yes, it is alot of work but I got a barely used 04 motor. Everything bolts up perfectly, I had to put from my old motor to the new motor was intake manifold, fuel rails, and injectors because the 04 was an electronic throttle body and 99 is cable. Also, the EGR and the passenger side exhaust manifold for the EGR. It was a huge learning curve but I was able to swap in about 4 and half days doing it completely alone. Feel free to ask if you need more in depth answers, keep track of bolts and order things came out and you shouldn't have too many set backs.
