I have a 2007 chevy silerado classic 4.3l v6. where is the temp sensor located? my service engine light came on i brought it to autozone and the computer said it was the sensor, low coolant, or t stat. i cant seem to find the coolant temp sensor.

ok i found the temp sensor and changed it light is still on.

should i change the t-stat?

 

wouldn't hurt. its a cheap fix.

 

WHre is it located?

 

on the drivers side of the block

I have had a problem with hot starts with my 2000 Silverado 5.3 engine.
It starts right up when cold or within 5 minutes of running at fully hot.
Aftger 5 minutes or so, it takes turning over up to 10 seconds before starting and then it idles rough for a short time. I took it to the closest Chevy dealer and they checked it over and were perplexed having never had a problem like
that. They check the computer, checked the fuel pump (good pressure), cleaned out the fuel lin and installed a new fuel filter. I put this on the internet and someone said it was the Engine Coolant temperature sensor.
I changed that today but I still have the problem. ANY IDEAS?
