Default Engine starts then dies

I have an 04 silverado 4.3l v6. 178,000 miles. Basic work truck only extras are auto trans and A/C. I started engine no problems, ran about 10-20 seconds then stumbled and died.
Engine would not restart. Waited about 5 minutes and engine started normal, ran about 5 seconds then stumbled and died. tried to restart but would not start. Waited 5 minutes and turned ignition to on and could hear fuel pump working. Started engine it ran for 5 seconds and stumbled and died. Turned off key and then back on but could not hear fuel pump. Tried to start but would not start. Waited 5 minutes and turned key to on and could hear fuel pump again. And so on..... I replaced the fuel filter, distributor, cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires less than a year ago. Ive had no problems leading up to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you

Default On the road again!!

Ok guys here is the final outcome. Went got a fuel pressure tester, connected to test port. Turned on key and pressure fluctuated between 42-44 psi. Turned off key and had no dramatic loss of fuel pressure so I ruled out the FPR. Started engine and it ran for about 2 minutes and pressure dropped to 10 psi and engine died. I did the easy thing and changed fuel filter. Turned key on and pressure never went above 10 psi and I couldn't hear the fuel pump. Waited about 20 minutes. Turned key on and still couldn't hear fuel pump.
Installed new fuel pump. Pressure now 62 psi and engine starts and runs great. Thanks everyone for your help!!!

the money you saved doing the repair yourself paid for your test equipment and then some.
